Aikido is a modern Japanese martial art, where practitioners strive to achieve harmony and balance, on both a physical and mental level. Aikido techniques are based on balance, movement, and breath. Their execution does not use physical strength; so children and adults, men and women, young and older people, all can practice together in a meaningful way. There are no competitions in Aikido; instead practitioners learn to grow together and solve conflictual situations without aggression.

Asuka Aikido is an Aikido dojo located in Tokyo Kita-ku. Training sessions are held weekly on Saturdays (Asuka junior high school, from 12:00 to 15:00) and Sundays (Kirigaoka sports center, from 9:30 to 12:00). The dojo is affiliated with the world-wide Aikikai Foundation and the Tokyo Metropolitan Aikido Federation. In addition to regular training sessions, students can take part to yearly events such as the All Japan Aikido Demonstration, the Children's Aikido Training Meet, or common training sessions with other dojos.
